When he finished school, Tim studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. In 2009, he played Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops, in the feature film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In 2011, he played Angus McCathie on the Australian soap opera Home and Away

"It is important to realise that you are not the star, the work is the star. You're only a small part of getting the work done, so you have to be able to collaborate with everyone else to get the best out of the performance." (On team work in general)
